England defender Steph Houghton made an amazing overhead-kick goal line save in the third place game of the Women’s World Cup against Germany.
England are trying to beat the world’s top-ranked team in Germany in the third place game of the Women’s World Cup on Saturday. The England team was nearly in the final but lost their semifinal against Japan because of an own goal in stoppage time of the second half.
But the Lionesses aren’t letting that mishap get them down and hinder their performance in the third place game and are playing well against Germany.
They nearly fell down a goal in the first half but an incredible goal line save from defender Steph Houghton has kept them level at zero.
And this wasn’t any goal line save, this was an overhead-kick right at the line to keep the ball out of the back of the net.
Simply incredible and magical, might be one of the plays of the tournament let alone the game. And if we’ve learned everything from the semifinals, this was a risky move and she very well could’ve put it in on goal but instead made an incredible play.
