The Cincinnati Bengals went on the road to open the 2015 NFL regular season and throttled the Oakland Raiders

33. 56. Final. 13. 28

The Cincinnati Bengals, one of the favorites in the AFC North once again, had quite the debut to their 2015 NFL season on Sunday, going out west and dismantling the Oakland Raiders by a final score of 33-13.

From the get-go, it appeared that the Raiders might be able to make a game of this, only being down 7-0 at the end of the first quarter following a Jeremy Hill three-yard touchdown run. However, in the second half, that’s where the Bengals really went off, scoring 17 points to take a commanding 24-0 lead into the locker room. The scoring in that huge second quarter included another touchdown run from Jeremy Hill, as well as a touchdown strike from Andy Dalton to Tyler Eifert.

Oakland was able to slow down Cincinnati in the second half, holding them to just nine points. But, the Raiders still couldn’t get their offense off the ground, at least not until the fourth quarter where they were able to get 13 points on the board. But by that time, it was too little too late. The Bengals were coming away with this one easily, one way or another.

One very notable happening from this one was Raiders quarterback Derek Carr having to leave the game with injury in the first half. He would return, but Matt McGloin finished this one out for Oakland.

Three Stars

Andy Dalton (QB, Bengals): 25-of-34 for 269 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Tyler Eifert (TE, Bengals): Nine catches for 104 yards with two touchdowns.

Jeremy Hill (RB, Bengals): 19 carries for 63 yards and two touchdowns.

Highlights

Odds

Coming into this game, the Bengals were a three-point favorite, so they had no issue covering the spread here in Week One.

Next Week

The Bengals will look to move to 2-0 next week when they welcome in the San Diego Chargers to Cincinnati. The Raiders will look to get their first win of the season when they host the Baltimore Ravens.
