Johnny Manziel replaced Josh McCown and it didn’t take long for him to break the game open.

Josh McCown didn’t look awful in his first action as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. However, McCown went down at the end of the first quarter with a concussion. That means it was time for the ever enigmatic Johnny Manziel to start taking the snaps for the Browns.

Manziel completed his first pass of the drive, then handed the ball off. He almost knocked off a huge scramble, but that was called back due to a penalty. On the very next play, though, Manziel pulled out something we haven’t seen from him in quite a while—a monster throw for a touchdown.

Say what you want about Manziel—and there’s plenty to say—but that throw was on the money to Travis Benjamin. Yes, Benjamin was wide open, but Manziel dropped it on a dime so that he could continue his stride right into the end zone.

Chapter two of the Manziel saga is officially underway in Cleveland. It’s off to a riveting start, but the real test will be if it holds up over time, or crumbles once again – similar to how it did last season.
