Giants land Matt Moore. How does this affect his fantasy value?

After the rival Dodgers failed to land Chris Archer, the Giants landed his former teammate Matt Moore. Moore was 7-7 with a 4.08 ERA at the time of the trade. After a dreadful start to the season, Moore posted a brilliant 2.41 ERA in July. This prompted the Giants to put together this package for him:

This move dramatically increases Moore’s fantasy value. Not only will his wins increase, but being in AT&T Park and the National League in general should help all of his numbers. He finally seems to be back on the track that he was on prior to his Tommy John Surgery in 2014. If he is available in your league, which he very well may be since his is only owned in 38% of ESPN.com leagues, you should pick him up now.

Matt Andriese is 6-2 with a 2.72 ERA as a starter this year, and is a very capable replacement for Moore. Andriese is worth a look in leagues of 12 or more teams.

The struggling Jake Peavy (5.47 ERA) will move to the Giants bullpen. If for some reason you were hanging on to Peavy, you can let him go now.

More from Fantasy Baseball

Matt Duffy was hitting .253 with four homers, 21 RBI, and eight steals in 257 at bats with the Giants. Duffy is expected to play SS with the Rays, and could be worth the add when he comes back from his Achilles injury. He is a low risk-high reward proposition.

19 year old Lucius Fox was hitting .207 with two homers, 16 RBI, and 25 steals for class A Augusta this year. He is a few years away from helping the major league club, but he has world class speed. He should be on the radar of dynasty owners.

21 year old Michael Santos was 4-2 with a 2.91 ERA in ten starts for class A Augusta so far this year. Santos owns a 2.84 ERA in 36 career starts at class A. Santos is still several years away from the major leagues as well.
