NFL Week 4: Super Bowl 51 odds
The New England Patriots are still the favorites to win Super Bowl 51, however, a few teams are starting to raise eyebrows heading into Week 4 action.
Week 4 will mark the end of the first quarter of the 2016 NFL season. It’s time to take a look at what teams may be worth taking a risk on to win Super Bowl 51 now that we are entering October. A few teams that are taking no prisoners so far in 2016 were not on many experts’ radar.
First of all, you have to start with Minnesota. No Adrian Peterson, no Teddy Bridgewater – no problem?
The Vikings defense is quietly one of the best in the NFL right now, and with the addition of quarterback Sam Bradford, this is a very dangerous team. They shut down Aaron Rodgers in Week 2, then they went into Carolina and smashed the Panthers, something not many teams have been able to do in the last two seasons.
Keep an eye on this team because they will be in the playoffs. Sure it’s early, but if Minnesota wins home field advantage in the NFC, they will be a tough out this postseason.

5 NFL teams that should hire Les Miles
The Vikings opened at 30/1 in July, and jumped to 20/1 after Week 2. Now Minnesota is currently 18/1 as they start to draw more attention at the Vegas window.
Two other teams climbing the radar are the Philadelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens.
Last week the Eagles were listed at 75/1 by most Vegas sportsbooks; they opened the season at 100/1. Now, behind Carson Wentz and a stingy defense, Philly has jumped to 60/1 as sportsbooks are taking notice.
Yes, there is a lot of football left to be played, but Vegas isn’t foolish enough to leave a team at 75/1 that has a nice mix of youth and veterans. 60/1 is still great odds for any team playing as well as the Eagles are playing right now.
The Ravens have started 3-0 on the season, yet they are not getting a lot of hype.
Next: NFL prediction - Bears at Cowboys
They started the season at 40/1, and are now currently listed at 30/1. While the Steelers and Bengals are still most NFL fans’ choice to win the AFC North, right now Baltimore is playing better than both teams. Joe Flacco has been to the promised land before, but can he lead the Ravens there once again?
The top five Super Bowl favorites look this way:
- New England — 6/1
- Green Bay — 8/1
- Denver — 10/1
- Seattle — 12/1
- Pittsburgh — 12/1
There’s still a long NFL season ahead here in 2016, but it’s been interesting seeing the Super Bowl 51 odds change the way they have thus far.
A few weeks from now, who knows what these numbers will look like.
