Our week 7 DFS NFL plays are plentiful. But, for purposes of this article, I will concentrate on low to mid owned, good upside, safe offensive plays for DFS. You will not find Tom Brady and Julio Jones here, if you can afford them, play them. Each of them has a good week 7 match-up. With that, lets talk about the offensive picks:

DFS NFL Plays – Quarterbacks:

Matt Ryan: Ryan is the number 1 ranked Quarterback DFS NFL play in the NFL based upon DYAR and QBR. He has been lighting up the scoreboards to this point and there is no indication that week 7 should be any different.

Vegas has the over/under on this game at 53.5 points with an implied total for Atlanta of 30 points. That simply translates into a potential shootout. Ryan has amassed more fantasy points than anyone in the NFL and he will be facing a defense that is 24th in the NFL in giving up FP’s to quarterbacks. I believe all of this adds up to another week of explosive play by Matt Ryan.

Philip Rivers: All we have to do is look across the field, in our potential shootout, to find our 2nd QB pick for week 7. Atlanta is also prone to giving up big yards and has had a number of shootouts already this year.

Atlanta is ranked 23rd against the pass and Rivers is ranked 3rd under the same standards as mentioned above. This game could potentially give us 5 or more players exceeding 20 plus FP’s and Rivers is bound to be one of them. I just don’t see a scenario where both QB’s do not have a productive fantasy day.

Other Notables: Marcus Mariota & Kirk Cousins

Running Backs: DeMarco Murray and Jacquizz Rodgers are 2 of the top running back plays of week 7. However, they will be highly owned on all platforms. Here are two good mid owned plays:

Spencer Ware: Spencer Ware is still the lead back in KC. Andy Reid was quoted this week “Jamal Charles is not ready for a bigger role yet.” Further, word out of KC today is that Charles is experiencing swelling in his knee. Given that Charles is not ready to take over and they are facing the Saints porous run defense, Ware is a safe play for week 7.

Many people will shy away now that Charles is in the lineup so Ware should not be highly owned. But, if Charles is listed as “Out” then Wares ownership will probably spike. As for the matchup: the Saints are one of those teams that you look to play the weekly RB opponent. Enough said!

Devonta Freeman: As mentioned earlier, this game will yield a ton of fantasy points. Honestly, you can enter either of the 2 headed monster back here. But, for these purposes I am leaning a bit towards the runner.

Coleman is the best pass catching back in the NFL and SD is ranked 20th against the pass to RB’s. But, SD is the 21st ranked run defense and given the way this game will spread the field I see Freeman hitting some big runs. But, it is close enough where we could end up with 40-50 FP’s racked up between the two.

Other Notables: Tevin Coleman, Mike Gillislee & Melvin Gordon

Wide Receivers: Julio Jones and AJ Green are safe plays with tremendous upside in week 7 and if you can afford them, play them in your cash games. they will both be highly owned in week 7. There are two plays that should be low owned with good upside for week 7:

Brandon Marshall: With Geno Smith getting the nod in week 7, he will likely lean heavily on the # 1 receiver for the Jets. Combine Marshall’s highly targeted expectation with the Ravens secondary issues and you have a great play.

The Ravens’ # 1 corner, Jimmy Smith, is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. He shutdown OBJ last week in the first half and after he left, OBJ went off. If Smith doesn’t play, go all in with Marshall! If he plays, pivot to my next pick.

Mike Evans: Evans was the most targeted receiver in the NFL up to his bye in week 6. San Francisco is one of those teams that you look to play a WR # 1 against weekly. They are in the middle of the pack for overall pass defense at #16. But, the Niners are dead last against defending the #1 receiver. A highly targeted receiver against the # 32 ranked WR1 defense is a recipe for fantasy points.

Other Notables: Amari Cooper, Allen Robinson & Tyrell Williams

Tight Ends: We can exclude Gronkowski and Reed (out) from our good value, high upside, low owned list. Gronk is in a good matchup and will be highly owned. If you can afford him, go for it!

Delanie Walker: My best tight end play of the week is Walker. He is fortunate enough to be going against the worst TE defender. Indy is ranked 32nd in TE pass defense. Also, Mariota’s second most targeted receiver is Delanie Walker. A talented receiver such as Walker against an inept pass defense, should mean a good TE play.

More from FanSided

Hunter Henry:  Henry is the 3rd ranked TE by DYAR standards. He has risen to stardom quickly and has become one of Rivers’ favorite targets. He has taken full advantage of the opportunity he was given when Antonio Gates went down. Even with Gates healthy, he is seeing the lion’s share of work at TE.

Henry is second only to Bennet for FP’s per target for Tight Ends with at least 200 snaps. Finally, Atlanta is ranked 22nd in defending the pass to TE’s and has given up the most TE receptions in the NFL, 9.3 per game. Henry should be able to take advantage of his matchups and the game flow.

Other Notables: Travis Kelce & Cameron Brate

All in all, Week 7 has some good plays at each offensive position. I wish you luck in trying to achieve the perfect lineup. But, we have outlined some good upside, low to mid owned plays that can definitely help with your cash game lineups. Hope it helps, feel free to leave any questions/comments.
