DraftKings NHL Picks: January 3rd Daily Top Plays
DraftKings NHL Picks: January 3rd
Tonight’s slate features 7 games, with New York (3.3) , Columbus (3.1), Tampa Bay (3.1), and Washington (3.1) holding the best projected team totals. I’ll be targeting players from these teams in cash games. Here are my DraftKings NHL picks.
EDM vs. CLB (-165), O/U: 5.5
TOR vs. WAS (-155), O/U: 5.5
NJD vs. CAR (-170), O/U: 5
BUF vs. NYR (-200), O/U: 5.5
WPG vs. TB (-145), O/U: 5.5
MTL vs. NAS (-125), O/U: 5
LA vs. SJ (-140), O/U: 5
DraftKings NHL Picks:
Mathieu Perreault – WPG (W) – $4000
Winnipeg will be on the road tonight, as they take on the Tampa Bay Lightening. Mathieu Perreault is a decent value play at only $4000. Given his time on the first power play unit and second line, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to find the score sheet. It’s not the best match-up for the Jets, but Perreault is averaging 2.11 shots per game and is under priced.

Ondrej Palat – TB (W) – $4900
Ondrej Palat is red hot of late, after returning to the lineup at the end of December. He’s recorded a point in each of his last three games, and is in a favorable spot to continue the streak tonight, as a home favorite vs. Winnipeg. Palat will be skating on the first line as well as the top power play unit. He’s played over 19 minutes per game since returning from injury, which is extremely encouraging for a winger in this price range.
Jaccob Slavin – CAR (D) – $4200
Jaccob Slavin has been thrust into a bigger role with the loss of Justin Faulk. Slavin is able to gain fantasy production in multiple categories. He’s currently averaging, 1.46 shots per game, in addition to 2.11 blocks. Given the matchup and time on the first powerplay unit, Slavin is a steal at this price.
Evander Kane – BUF (W) – $5300
While Evander Kane may have one of the worst matchups on the board, he has proven to be constant and somewhat matchup proof. He’s averaging just under 4 shots per game, one of the highest on the slate. Even in a difficult matchup, I’ll be locking Kane in, knowing a floor of 2 points is reasonable and hoping for some upside given a goal or an assist.
Best of luck!
