Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham got his team on the board first with a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday.
The Seattle Seahawks got the ball to start against the Atlanta Falcons on the road in the NFC Divisional Round on Saturday, and they put together one of their best drives of the year. After being backed up by a penalty to start the drive off the kickoff, Russell Wilson methodically drove the team down the field. Jimmy Graham finished it off.
As the Seahawks got down into the red zone, Wilson found Graham near the corner of the end zone and he threw him a perfect pass. Graham used his athleticism to get into the end zone and the Seahawks silenced a rowdy crowd early.
For the Seahawks, this was a welcome sight for them on offense. There have been plenty of games this season where they struggled to get points on the board and getting a touchdown drive to begin a playoff game on the road helps set the tone early, which is exactly what they want.
Having a healthy Graham has made a huge difference for Wilson this season. He’s a big target that safeties around the league have a hard time guarding and he did a good job here of getting enough separation to get moving.
The Falcons’ defense had great starting field position but maybe it was the excitement of the game that got to them early. Gaps in their coverage allowed for big plays to be broken and a touchdown to be had.
