Atlanta Falcons safety Ricardo Allen recorded a huge interception as he picked off Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in the fourth quarter.
The Atlanta Falcons made the plays they needed to do when it mattered most in the fourth quarter on Sunday. While Matt Ryan was leading the offense to touchdowns, safety Ricardo Allen made the huge play on the defensive end.
While the Seattle Seahawks were threatening to cut the deficit against the Falcons, their pass rush got after Russell Wilson. After they dropped Wilson with one sack, they brought the pressure again and he was hammered as he let it go. The football floated in the air and right into the arms of Allen.
Allen would make a solid return with the football down the field and the crowd in the Georgia Dome lost their minds. The Falcons’ offense would follow up the huge interception with a massive drive of their own.
Ryan would lead the team down the field and would find Mohamed Sanu for the touchdown. With the game seemingly out of reach, the Falcons showed the crowd that they had what it takes to make the plays when it counted.
Defense can spark big plays in the NFL and with the Seahawks threatening to score, the veteran Allen stepped up and picked off one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
