NBA FanDuel DFS Top 5 Plays of The Day for February 3rd 2017

Happy Friday everyone!  Tonight’s NBA FanDuel slate falls right in the range I really like playing in.  We have 9 games to choose from tonight after a 4 game slate last night.  We have some good games to look at tonight with 4 games opening up with a total above 217.5.  Those games look like great ones to target at multiple positions.

Phoenix at Sacramento, LAL at Boston, Chicago at Houston, and Indiana at Brooklyn are all games I will likely target, I will also look to target a couple of players from the Milwaukee at Denver game.  It’s going to be an exciting night with a lot of scoring.  I will get back to playing 70% in Cash Games and 30% in GPP’s.

I hit a few nice plays last night.  James Harden finished the night with 66.6 FDP’s and was the anchor of my best lineup.  I think it paid off to fade Kawhi Leonard, who finished with 40.1 FDP’s, with his price at $10,100 that just didn’t pay off like you would want.  I was nervous about sticking to it once LaMarcus Aldridge was ruled out but I stuck to my guns and it paid off.  I was completely wrong about Manu Ginobili, he played just 9 minutes and scored a lineup killing 8.6 FDP’s.

Tim Hardaway Jr, was the cheap SG that went off last night, if you managed to pair him up with Harden you likely did really well.  Steph Curry and Kevin Durant finished with 51.1 and 52.6 FDP’s, which made them really nice plays in any format.  Now let’s take a look at todays Top 5 Plays, starting with who to spend up on and who to fade in GPP’s.

NBA FanDuel – Top Player To Spend and Fade In GPP’s

Jimmy Butler $9,400

Tonight’s slate is loaded in just about every position but PF.  Butler is the most expensive SF and I love this spot for him.  He gets a Rockets team on the 2nd night of a back to back, and 3rd game in 4 nights…(notice I like attacking teams in this spot)?  Houston has given up the most FDP’s to the SF position over the past week and Butler is averaging 41.6 FDP’s per game and is playing in a game where his team is being paced up.

This game currently has a total of 223 with the Rockets favored by 6.5  I think the Bulls find a way to keep this one close in large part to Jimmy Butler.  With so many great plays tonight I think Butler makes for a really nice low owned GPP play.

Kyle Lowry $9,600

Tonight my main player to fade is Kyle Lowry.  He has been a pretty popular play lately with DeMar DeRozan out the past 2 games.  In those games Lowry scored 49.8 and 42.9 FDP’s.  What gets me is his priced jumped up to $9,600 since his last game where he was $8,700.  That takes away some of the upside, especially when I can get the same production tonight from a guys a little cheaper.  Combine that with the paced down game at Orlando and I think this is a tremendous time to let everyone else own Lowry, especially if DeRozan sits again.  Now let’s take a look at my Cash Game lock and GPP Flier.

NBA FanDuel – Cash Game Lock and GPP Flier

Myles Turner $6,700

With so many options at Center tonight it’s going to be tough to not have exposure to a few different ones.  Myles Turner seems really safe for his price tonight in this match-up.  The last time he played against the Nets he went off for over 50 FDP’s.  The Nets rank in the bottom 3rd of the league against centers and the game has a 220.5 total with the Pacers a 7 point favorite on the road.  I think this is a great spot for Turner to score 30 plus FDP’s which will pay off his mid level price.  Lock him into your cash game lineups and spend up at a different position tonight.

Darren Collison $4,800

Every now and then Collison flashes and has a game where he scores 7-10x his salary.  It doesn’t happen very often, but when he is in a great match-up he has the ability to get you 40 FDP’s.  This is one of those times.  He is getting paced up against a horrible Phoenix Suns team.  They do not play well against opposing PG’s which makes me believe Collison could be a really sneaky GPP play at the PG position.  The relief in salary will really help you make someone higher priced fit nicely.  It also wouldn’t be a bad idea to pair him up with Boogie and also use Bledsoe in a GPP.  Now let’s take a look at tonight’s Top PayMaker.

NBA FanDuel – Top PayMaker

Giannis Antetokounmpo $10,900

He is in a terrific match-up today against the Nuggets.  He hasn’t been played well lately which has his price down a little.  He is a little risky because he hasn’t eclipsed the 40 FDP mark in his last 2 games but the Nuggets are a great ‘get right’ team.  They are one of the worst in the league against both the PG and SG position, which is where Giannis will be playing.

More from FanSided

I think in this spot Giannis ‘gets right’ and scores over 50 FDP’s.  He is one of my favorites to spend up for today because of this match-up, and if Jokic plays I like it even more.  I will have a pretty good amount of exposure today but he will not be in 100% of my lineups.

When you construct your lineups today be sure to get pieces of some of those games with high totals.  There are a lot of guys to pay up for but I think spending over 12K for someone today is something I will not be doing very much of.  In cash games I will be staying in that 11K or less range.  There is a lot of good plays in that mid priced level at multiple positions.  In GPP’s I will have some Stars and Scrubs lineups with some other variations and game stacks.

The obvious chalk game to stack will be the Indiana/Brooklyn game.  There is a lot of value plays you can use from that game to save a little cap space.  My favorite game to stack tonight is Phoenix at Sacramento mixed in with a little Chicago at Houston.  Good Luck to you all, I’ll be back tomorrow for the Saturday slate before taking a day or two off for the Super Bowl.
