Welcome Back to NBA FanDuel as we get a nice seven game slate for a Monday Night with tons of high scoring games on tap!

NBA FanDuel has some really nice contests going today with some big payouts.  If you have $6 bucks and a dream you could win $150K tonight.  Of course in order to do that you would have to beat out 129,410 other lineups.  Despite those odds I’m going to have a couple of entries because you just never know!  If shooting for the moon isn’t on your list today, hopefully I can still help you put together a winning lineup for whatever contest you are planning on entering tonight.

A slate this size is perfect for both cash and GPP’s, and I will be playing both tonight.  This time of year in the NBA is the toughest to make a profit.  If you don’t stay on top of late breaking news in regards to guys sitting out to rest or whatever reason, you could end up with a few zero’s which will eliminate you from any contest.  I tend to play a little less than normal this time of year as well.  I’ll be playing about 65% of my bankroll in cash games and 35% in GPP’s.  Like always I’ll be playing the main slate on Fanduel and I’ll give you who I’m spending up for and who I’m fading in GPP’s, my cash game lock, my GPP flier, and my overall top player for the slate.  Let’s get to it!

NBA FanDuel: Top GPP Spend and Fade

Isaiah Thomas – $9,300

Thomas is still the main scorer for the Celtics and his price has fallen from over $10k a few weeks ago.  He has averaged 37.9 FDP’s (Fanduel Points) over his last 6, which will not pay off his $9,300 price tag.  However, 3 of those games came against slower paced defensive minded teams like Utah, Dallas, and Detroit.  This match-up against Atlanta has a decent total of 211.5 and Atlanta has been getting torched by opposing PG’s of late.  I think Thomas is in a great spot to get back into the mid 40’s tonight.  He will be the main PG I spend up for tonight.

Dario Saric – $7,000

It seems that Fanduel is making up for their pricing goof over the weekend with Saric.  I believe after scoring almost 40 FDP’s on Friday, his price actually went down $500 for the slate on Saturday.  Now he’s priced at $7K and I think that takes away his upside.  He could very well score 45 FDP’s tonight and pay that price off, but I’m thinking he will likely end up at his average over the past 5 games, 37.16.

This position is pretty scarce at the top today which leads me to also believe Saric will be extremely popular again.  I’m willing to take a stand on him today in GPP’s and take a shot on Serge Ibaka, who has the same upside at $1,100 less in a much better match-up against the New York Knicks.  Now let’s take a look at my cash game lock and GPP flier.

NBA FanDuel: Cash Game Lock and GPP Flier

Myles Turner $6,500

This is a great spot for Turner.  He is averaging 30.5 FPD’s on the season and gets a plus match-up against the Houston Rockets tonight.  The Rockets have given up the 3rd most FDP’s to opposing centers on the season.  The total is currently 231, the highest on the slate.  We need about 30 points from him tonight to pay that price off in cash games, and I think that is his floor tonight.  His relatively cheap price makes it possible to fit some of the guys priced over $10K to help make a really nice cash game lineup.  His upside is limited, but in cash I’m looking for safety and I think I get that relatively cheap with Turner tonight.

Thaddeus Young $5,400

In GPP’s I’m going to attack the Rockets front court in a different way with Thad Young.  The Rockets rank near the bottom 3rd of the league against power forwards on the season.  Power forward is a mess tonight, and I think most players will be using Saric and Ibaka.  I’m willing to take a chance that Young reaches his ceiling tonight and scores along the same lines as the Saric and Ibaka.  With a slight discount to those mentioned above he will enable you to have a little different roster construction which could be the difference in  GPP’s today.  Now let’s take a look at today’s PayMaker.

NBA FanDuel – Top PayMaker

Giannis Antetokounmpo $10,900

The main guy I’m paying over $10k for tonight is Giannis.  He gets an outstanding match-up against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who may or may not have LeBron James.  He is averaging 50.46 FDP’s over his last 6 games, with 3 of those reaching 55 or more.  He has shown the tendency to really perform well against big time opponents and will be at his best in this one.  I think we see a ceiling game from Giannis, who could be very low owned if Lowry for Toronto is out again.

More from FanSided

If Lowry sits, DeRozan will be a lock for most lineups which will cause players to not be able to pay up for Giannis.  I will make him a staple in my lineups tonight and build around him.  He’s due for a huge game as we haven’t seen the huge spike with Parker out, tonight is a prime spot for that to happen.  Plug him in and wait for 60!

Don’t be afraid to be a little different tonight.  Some of the players in my cash games over the weekend had tremendously high ownership.  I had one cash lineup with 6 players over 70% owned.  Luckily the 3 other players I had were owned at 10% or less, and they did well which helped me have a winning variation over the rest of the players in the contests.  Once again it will be very important to stay on top of news of players resting tonight.  Follow @fantasycpr and @Bruce_Lamb for updates throughout the day.  Good Luck!
