FanDuel NHL Blue Line Power Plays: March 2
By Matt Rogers
Welcome to the Thursday, FanDuel NHL Blue Line Power Plays: March 2 column. Tonight, we’re going to have many top scoring options with several value picks for affordability. The salary options mentioned have already been set by FanDuel for Thursday.
After a short two-game rivalry night NHL schedule on Wednesday, we’re back to a full slate on Thursday. Tonight, we have ten games to pick through and build our top lineup. We’re only going to focus on five games targeting a few stacks to get to a big FanDuel NHL payday. Here’s a look at the scheduled games we’re targeting:
Panthers at Flyers (7pm ET)
Devils at Capitals (7pm ET)
Avalanche at Senators (7:30pm ET)
Islanders at Stars (8:30pm ET)
The Panthers and Flyers game is a toss-up. The Panthers have surged recently, but still have some holes to fill. That has been a common theme for the Flyers all season. I’m mostly avoiding this game, but intrigued by some value.
I suspect the Caps will beat the Devils on home ice, but they better be ready for a fight. The Devils have a few hot offensive players tonight, and we may want to target them, even in a tough road match up.
The Senators are an obvious target playing a terrible Avs team, and the Isles and Stars each have some top FanDuel NHL scoring options to choose from.
We’ll start with a Center from Ottawa, then take a look at a hot Devil:

Top Centers
New Jersey Devils top-line center Travis Zajac ($4,800) is absolutely on fire. Zajac has three goals, two of the power play variety, and five assists over the last five games. That includes a short-handed goal. Also, Travis is averaging around three shots per game and has a couple of blocked shots as well. Simply put, the Devils 1st line is on fire and even against a good Caps team in Washington, D.C., this line will likely continue to produce.
Zajac is riding on a streak of five straight double-digit FanDuel NHL point games. Three of those games were 20+ points. At a sub-$5K salary, Zajac has been a steal for the past two weeks. When we get to the next position, we’ll also take a look at stacking one of his wingers.
As we already discussed, the Senators have the juiciest match up of the night. So for our next pick Kyle Turris ($6,000) is a top scoring option. Turris heads into this game with three goals in four games, also three games with 15+ FanDuel NHL points. Kyle and his line will likely be involved in one or more goals tonight on home ice against the Avalanche.

Sticking with the top line for the Senators, we’re going to stack Mike Hoffman ($6,500) with our Turris pick. Hoffman has a goal or assist in four of the last five games, and double-digit points in four games as well. Mike is also getting around three shots on goal each game. On home ice against the Avalanche, I expect Hoffman to get closer to 20+ FanDuel NHL points.
We’re going to do another top line stack, this time with the Devils Zajac. Like Travis, Kyle Palmieri ($6,000) has been on fire lately. Over the last four games, Palmieri has four goals and three assists, including a power play goal. In three of the last four games, Kyle has 30+ FanDuel NHL points.
I don’t suspect Palmieri can eclipse 30 points again tonight against a tough Caps team, but it’s certainly possible. Still, we should see another double-digit FanDuel NHL performance from Kyle.
Rounding out our four wingers, we’re going to grab two Stars, Dallas Stars. One of the top plays of the night is Jamie Benn ($8,400) and one of the best values of the night is Antoine Roussel ($4,000).
The Stars, offensively, are on fire. Benn should need no introduction to daily fantasy sports players, but to recap, he has nine straight FanDuel NHL double-digit games. Jamie is involved in almost every scoring result for Dallas.
Playing on the 2nd line for the Stars, Roussel has three double-digit FanDuel NHL results in the past five games, including a 48.8 point effort after a hat-trick against the Lightening. Antonine is staying on home ice tonight, coming from a goal and assist performance against the Penguins.
Next: Top Defense

Completing a three-Senators stack, we’re dropping one of the top defensive options of the night, Erik Karlsson ($7,100), into our lineup. Karlsson has eight double-digit FanDuel NHL points in eight of the last nine Senators games.
Erik consistently earns FanDuel NHL points with blocked shots and shots on goal, but is often involved in scoring results as well. Over the last five games, Karlsson has one goal and five assists. Against a team like the Avalanche, Karlsson has the potential to pile up 20-30+ FanDuel NHL points.
Radko Gudas ($3,600) is our sneaky value play of the night. I’ve mostly faded the Flyers and Panthers for tonight. But, I noticed Gudas has three double-digit FanDuel NHL point games in the last five Flyers games. The two exceptions were still 8 and 9.6 points. That’s an impressive streak for a salary of only $3.6K. This play also makes our lineup affordable.

On Tuesday, we picked the Flyers’ Mason as our goalie option. He was struggling this season, but we felt a home ice match up against the dreadful Colorado Avalanche offense was a great chance for Mason to bounce back. He did! Mason had a shutout against the Avs’, scoring a total of 46.4 FanDuel NHL points.

So who’s playing the Avalanche tonight? The Ottawa Senators, that’s who. The Senators are welcoming the Avalance to the Canadian Tire Centre with open arms, I’m sure. Craig Anderson ($8,500) is confirmed to be between the pipes for the Sens, and he’s been on fire lately.
Over the last four games, Anderson is 3-1 and averaging just over 35 saves per game. In the four games, Craig had 20+ FanDuel NHL points, capping off the run with a 37.6 point result in Florida on Sunday. What’s even more amazing, all four of those games were on the road. On hoe ice tonight, Anderson should stay hot and get the 12 points for a win.
Always check NHL lineups throughout the day when playing FanDuel NHL. As a fan, you likely know the league isn’t overly forthcoming with injury news, and players are often scratched at the last-minute with little information. Also, goaltenders are never a sure-thing. Good Luck today FanDuelers!
