MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel May 12th

I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.

Tonight’s slate features 15 games, with Los Angeles (5.6), Arizona (5.2), Washington (4.9), Texas (4.9), and Boston (4.9), holding the best projected team totals. With high priced pitchers available, finding value will be critical to success tonight. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

DraftKings MLB Values:

A.J. Pollock – ARI (OF) – $4500

While Arizona wasn’t able to get much going offensively last night, they’ll be in another good spot to both score runs, and steal bases. Arizona is projected to score 5.2 runs, and A.J. Pollock should benefit from facing the righty, Tyler Glasnow. Glasnow has allowed 10 stolen bases in just six starts this season, and with Cervelli behind the plate, I love Pollock’s chances of recording a steal.

Matt Carpenter – STL (1B) – $4500

Matt Carpenter is one of the more discounted first basemen on DraftKings, relative to FanDuel. He’ll draw a favorable matchup, against a righty, where he holds a .394 wOBA and a .255 ISO split. Carpenter provides the power upside need in tournaments.

FanDuel MLB Values:

Apr 22, 2017; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb (22) hits a two run home against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first inning at Chase Field. Mandatory Credit: Jennifer Stewart-USA TODAY Sports

Jake Lamb – ARI (3B) – $3500

Jake Lamb is another Diamondback batter that could be poised for a big night, given his drastic splits vs. righties. Lamb holds a .373 wOBA and a .290 ISO split. Lamb has struggled mightily of late, and has seen his price decrease over $500 to now $3500.

More from FanSided

This may be a good buying opportunity, given the price and Vegas projection. Note the weather in Arizona, where temperatures are projected to be in the mid 90’s.

Dexter Fowler – STL (OF) – $3100

Dexter Fowler has been held out of late due to a shoulder injury, but has made some impressive pinch hit appearances in the last two games. It’s been reported that the injury hampers his throwing ability more than his swing, so if he’s back tonight, he could provide value at a cheap price of $3100. If Fowler makes the lineup, he should be leading off.
