MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel June 27th

I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.

Tonight’s slate features 15 games, with Boston (6.3), Cleveland (5.6), Toronto (5.5), and Cincinnati (5.3), holding the best projected team totals. With high-priced players available tonight, finding value will be critical to success. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Matt Carpenter – STL (1B) – $3700

St. Louis will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks, in a game in which the Cards are projected to score 4.5 runs. While this isn’t the most attractive total, first baseman Matt Carpenter, is much cheaper on DraftKings, relative to FanDuel. At only $3700, Carpenter is nearly $1000 cheaper than he was in the last few weeks. While his price has dropped, his batted ball numbers remain steady, thus indicating a potential buying opportunity. Carpenter will also benefit from being on the good side of a lefty vs. righty split. Carpenter will face a righty, where he holds a .366 wOBA split, and a .237 ISO split.

Jose Bautista – TOR (OF) – $3900

Jose Bautista is another batter in an advantageous matchup, given his splits. Bautista will face the righty, Kevin Gausman tonight and on the year, he holds a .367 wOBA split and a .217 ISO split against right-handed pitching. Toronto has one of the best team totals on the slate, and depending on what their lineup looks like, Bautista should be considered.

Ian Kinsler – DET (2B) – $3300

The Detroit offense is in an enticing spot, as they’ll host the Kansas City Royals and hold a projected team total of 5.2 runs.

More from FanSided

Leadoff hitter, Ian Kinsler, has seen price drop on FanDuel, even with the favorable matchup. Kinsler is significantly cheaper on FanDuel, and will benefit from facing a lefty. Kinsler holds a .345 wOBA split and a .236 ISO split against left-handed pitching.

Cody Bellinger – LAD (1B) – $4200

While Cody Bellinger is by no means cheap, and has actually seen his price increase, he’s considerably cheaper on FanDuel. DraftKings has made a steeper adjustment in his price. Bellinger is always in play, especially when facing a righty. On the year he’s averaged .114 home runs per at bat. In the last 15 days, Bellinger has a hard hit percentage of 65%, the highest on tonight slate. If you have room to spend up, take a look at Cody Bellinger on FanDuel.

Logan Morrison – TB (1B) – $3500

Logan Morrison is a more affordable option at first base tonight and is another bargain on FanDuel, relative to DraftKings. Morrison holds quite dramatic splits, hitting considerably better against righties than lefties (he faces a righty tonight). For the year, he holds a .379 wOBA split and a .322 ISO split (.162 better than when facing a lefty). Morrison’s price has remained steady, but his recent batted ball stats have gone up considerably. In the last 15 days, his distance is up 31 feet, his hard hit percentage is up 9%, and his exit velocity is up 4 MPH.
