MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel June 30th
I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.
Tonight’s slate features 15 games, with Tampa Bay (5.8), Cleveland (5.5), Baltimore (5.4), and New York (5.3), holding the best projected team totals. With high-priced players available tonight. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.
MLB DFS – DraftKings MLB Values:
Matt Carpenter – STL (1B) – $3900
I’ll be going back to the well again for some more Matt Carpenter tonight, as he remains underpriced on DraftKings. While Carpenter failed to take advantage of the Cardinals’ 10 run outpouring yesterday, he still remains very cheap at only $3900. In mid June he was priced in the mid $4000’s, and even with a dip in his fantasy production, his batted ball stats remain steady. Carpenter will also be in a favorable matchup a righty tonight. Carpenter holds a .363 wOBA split and a .232 ISO split.
Matt Olsen – OAK (OF) – $2300
If Matt Olsen is batting second for the A’s tonight, he’ll be one of the best punt option on the slate. Olsen is much cheaper on DraftKings, than FanDuel, priced near the minimum at $2300. Olsen has been impressive since being recalled from Triple-A last week, recording three home runs in seven games. Olsen will benefit from facing a righty tonight, where he holds a .375 wOBA split and a .333 ISO split (note this is a small sample size). Nevertheless, Olsen is simply too cheap for a batter hitting second, on a team with a moderate total of 4.8 runs.
MLB DFS – FanDuel MLB Values:
Logan Morrison – TB (1B) – $3600
Tampa Bay will head to Baltimore, in a game in which the Rays hold a team total of 5.8 runs. First baseman, Logan Morrison, is considerably cheaper on FanDuel, as are much of the other Tampa Bay batters.

Morrison has fairly dramatic splits, providing him with quite a boost when facing right-handed pitching. He holds a .381 wOBA split and a .316 ISO split (.144 better than when facing a lefty). While he’s hit a bit of a lull in the past five games, he should be in a great spot to break that tonight. Morrison has tremendous home run upside, averaging .072 home runs per at bat.
Evan Longoria – TB (3B) – $3400
Evan Longoria is another one of the Tampa Bay batters priced down on FanDuel, relative to DraftKings tonight. Longoria is a righty, but holds reverse splits that benefit him when facing right-handed pitching. He holds a .357 wOBA split and a .226 ISO split. Rays’ batters may also receive a boost from the hitting conditions in Baltimore tonight. With temperatures reaching 90, and wind blowing out to dead center at 13 MPH, we could see a high scoring affair.
Kyle Seager – SEA (3B) – $2700
Kyle Seager has been wildly inconsistent of late, and his pricing is indicative of those struggles. At $2700, this is the cheapest that he’s been priced in the last 15 days. His pricing may be justified, but he still offers power at an extreme discount. Seager hasn’t received the same price drop on DraftKings, making him an excellent bargain on FanDuel tonight.
