MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel July 14th

I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.

Tonight’s slate features 15 games, with Seattle (5.5), Milwaukee (5.4), and Washington (5.4), holding the best projected team totals. With high-priced players available tonight, finding value will be critical to success. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

MLB DFS – DraftKings MLB Values:

TORONTO, ON – JUNE 14: Corey Dickerson
TORONTO, ON – JUNE 14: Corey Dickerson /

Corey Dickerson – TB (OF) – $3500

Tampa Bay will head out west to take on the Angeles, in a game in which the Rays are projected to score 4.3 runs. While this isn’t the most impressive team total, Corey Dickerson, should offer value at a cheap price on DraftKings. Dickerson fairs much better against righties, with a .367 wOBA split and a .257 ISO split. Dickerson struggled before the All-Star break and has therefore seen his price drop to $3500. This is far too low, as he was priced in the mid $4000’s in the weeks prior to the break.

Asdrubal Cabrera – NYM (2B/SS) – $3400

The Mets are another team with a moderate total, but batters like Asdrubal Cabrera should offer value considering his pricing differences on DraftKings vs. FanDuel. Like Dickerson, Cabrera offers both power upside, and dual position eligibility, at an affordable price. Cabrera averages .044 home runs per at bat. The switch hitter is a bit better against righties, with a .351 wOBA split and a .211 ISO split.

MLB DFS – FanDuel MLB Values:

CLEVELAND, OH – JULY 7: Starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco
CLEVELAND, OH – JULY 7: Starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco /

Carlos Carrasco – CLE (P) – $9500

As FanDuel continues to price down most of the elite pitching options, you’ll continue to see some of the more obvious pitchers pop up on this list. Carlos Carrasco is no different as he his much cheaper on FanDuel relative to DraftKings.

More from FanSided

Carrasco tends to be somewhat inconsistent, but strung together two impressive outings just before the break. Hopefully this will carry over tonight, when facing the A’s. Oakland averages the third highest strikeouts per game, at 9.57. Carrasco should have one of the highest strikeout projections tonight, given the matchup and his K/9 of 9.98.

Eric Thames – MIL (1B) – $3500

Milwaukee has the second best projected team total on the slate of 5.4 runs and first baseman, Eric Thames, is a bargain on FanDuel tonight. Thames was crushing the ball before the break, and should be in another good spot to continue that tonight, as he’ll face the righty, Nick Pivetta. Thames holds a .411 wOBA split and a .325 ISO split.

Freddie Freeman – ATL (3B) – $3600

Freddie Freeman is another example of a batter in an advantageous match-up tonight. Freeman dominates righties and will face a righty tonight. He currently holds a .478 wOBA split and a .378 ISO split. Atlanta has a projected total of 4.7 runs, and the offense could benefit from a hot and humid night in Atlanta.
