MLB DFS Value Plays DraftKings FanDuel August 18th
MLB DFS Value Plays DraftKings and FanDuel August 18th
I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.
Tonight’s slate features 14 games, with Texas (6.9), Colorado (6.8), Los Angeles (5.9), and Baltimore (5.7), holding the best projected team totals. With high-priced players available tonight, finding value will be critical to success. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.
MLB DFS DraftKings Value Plays
Brad Miller – TB (2B) – $2500
Brad Miller has drawn the leadoff spot in back to back games, and could again tonight, as the Rays face the righty, Erasmo Ramirez. Miller doesn’t usually stand out as a household name in fantasy, but he’s simply way too cheap if he’s leading off. He’s also much more expensive on FanDuel, relative to DraftKings.
Matt Carpenter – STL (1B) – $3300
DraftKings finally priced Matt Carpenter up in the last week, but his price has now fallen again, to $3300. While the Cardinals don’t have the most impressive total, this is the cheapest that Carpenter has been in the last 15 days. He should benefit from facing a righty tonight, where he holds a .363 wOBA split and a .216 ISO split.
MLB DFS FanDuel Value Plays
Corey Seager – LAD (SS) – $3800
The Dodgers have one of the top team totals on the slate, at 5.9 runs. Lefties like Corey Seager should be targeted, as they’ll face the righty, Jordan Zimmermann. Seager is priced up on DraftKings, and not so much on FanDuel. Seager holds a .392 wOBA split and a .200 ISO split.

Joey Gallo – TEX (1B) – $4000
With Joey Gallo getting more time in the six hole, FanDuel has finally raised his price, but he’s still underpriced on FanDuel, relative to DraftKings. Texas holds the best team total on the slate, and Joey Gallo should benefit from facing a righty. Gallo holds a .369 wOBA split and a .367 ISO split. He’s also averaging .101 home runs per at bat (which is better than players like Stanton and Bellinger).
Yoenis Cespedes – NYM (OF) – $3700
The Mets have a decent team total of 5.1 runs, but Yoenis Cespedes stands out from a pricing stand point. $3700 is simply too cheap for a player with his power (.059 HR per at bat). This is one of the cheaper price tags we’ve seen on Cespedes and he should be in an advantageous match-up against a lefty tonight. Cespedes holds a .350 wOBA split and a .273 ISO split.
