MLB DFS Value Plays DraftKings and FanDuel September 12th

I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.
Tonight’s slate features 14 games, with Texas (6), Minnesota (5.8), Seattle (5.6), and Cleveland (5.6), holding the best projected team totals. With high-priced players available tonight, finding value will be critical to success. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

MLB DFS – DraftKings MLB Values:

Matt Carpenter – STL (1B) – $3400

St. Louis will host the visiting Reds tonight, in a game in which the Cardinals are projected to score 4.8 runs. While this total is isn’t above five runs, first baseman, Matt Carpenter is extremely underpriced on DraftKings, relative to FanDuel. Carpenter should be leading off and will draw a positive match-up against a righty. Carpenter holds a .363 wOBA split and a .213 ISO split.

Robbie Grossman – MIN (OF) – $3600

Minnesota has one of the best team totals on the slate and outfielder, Robbie Grossman, should be considered tonight at only $3600. Grossman is priced up higher on FanDuel, but offers some value on DraftKings. Grossman should be batting fifth and will look to continue his hot start to the month of September. Since returning to the lineup, Grossman has reached double-digit DraftKings’ points in 4 of his last 5 games. In the last 15 days, his distance is up 31 feet and his exit velocity is up 5 MPH.

MLB DFS – FanDuel MLB Values:

SEATTLE, WA – SEPTEMBER 9: Robinson Cano
SEATTLE, WA – SEPTEMBER 9: Robinson Cano /

Robinson Cano – SEA (2B) – $3500

Robinson Cano should almost always be considered when he draws a matchup against a righty, but he’s even more valuable tonight, as he only cost $3500 on FanDuel. This is much cheaper than DraftKings and he should benefit from a high scoring affair. Cano mashes right-handed pitching with a .375 wOBA split and a .239 ISO split.

More from FanSided

Eduardo Escobar – MIN (3B) – $3200

Eduardo Escobar’s value will be determined by his spot in the order. If he bats in the clean up spot, he’ll simply be too cheap given the Twins team total of 5.8 runs. Like Grossman, Escobar has been swinging the bat very well in recent games. In the last 15 days, his distance is up 34 feet, his hard hit percentage is up 8%, and his exit velocity is up 2 MPH.

Jose Ramirez – CLE (2B) – $3800

Jose Ramirez is one of the more glaring mis-pricings, as Cleveland may be over a -400 favorite yet again tonight. Ramirez went deep in last night’s outing and has shown no signs of slowing down late in the season. Ramirez, a switch hitter, will face a lefty, where he holds a .400 wOBA split and a .251 ISO split. In the last 15 days, Ramirez’s distance is up 31 feet, his hard hit percentage is up 21%, and his exit velocity is up 4 MPH.
