DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 2

It’s a complete 180 tonight with only two games on the DraftKings slate. I encourage you to track injury updates closely to help you find potentially profitable value plays. If you want to be successful in NBA DFS, it is important stay connected all the way up until game lock.

Last night’s $525K Wednesday Starting 5 Special finished with a cash line at 277.25 DraftKings points and a winning score of 389.25 DraftKings points. The top lineup had big games from DeMarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans, T.J Warren and Bradley Beal. My single entry finished in 208th place with a score of 347.5 DraftKings points. Had I gone with Bradley Beal and Khris Middleton instead of Kevin Love and Dennis Schroder, it would have been a much different story.

Be aware of players with multiple position eligibility. Throughout this column, players might not be listed at their true position due to a lack off depth at another spot. Using positional flexibility could give you the edge to take down a DraftKings GPP.

Let’s jump into tonight’s slate!

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 2 – Point Guards

Elite

Damian Lillard ($9,300) vs. LAL

Lillard is coming off his best game of the season against a stingy Utah defense in which he posted 64.5 DraftKings points. He gets the Lakers tonight who have struggled to guard the point guard position and recently gave up 37.75 DraftKings points to Reggie Jackson. Lillard has insane usage and should be in line for another big game.

Steph Curry ($9,000) vs. SA

Curry is a good pivot off of Lillard at a similar price point in a game with the higher implied total. The Spurs are a solid defense unit, but Curry has the best individual matchup against Dejounte Murray. We’ve seen what Curry is capable of and could see 50-plus DraftKings points tonight.

Mid-Tier

Lonzo Ball ($7,100) vs. POR

Last game against the Pistons marked Ball’s lowest minute count of the season at 28 due to a blowout. He still managed to average over a DraftKing point per minute. Ball contributes across multiple categories, which gives him a solid floor even when his shot isn’t falling. He’ll draw Lillard on defense tonight who has a -1.39 DRPM. I like Ball tonight for a bounce back game in which he should see his normal minutes.

Value

Dejounte Murray ($5,500) vs. GS

If you’re looking for value at point guard, I think Murray gives you the best value in tournaments. He’s shot the ball inconsistently as of late, but can rack up fantasy points in a variety of ways. Murray is always an attractive play for me since I tend to favor rebounding point guards. He’s 6.7 boards this year and has hauled in 10 or more twice. Murray could be a way to save a few bucks tonight.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 2 – Shooting Guards

Elite

None

Mid-Tier

C.J. McCollum ($7,700) vs. LAL

McCollum is the top option at shooting guard, which is even more scarce than most nights. We know Portland’s usage is dominated by their backcourt and McCollum will see plenty of looks in the faster paced game of the two. His field goal percentage has been decreasing since the beginning of the season, but I expect that to change tonight. The Lakers can’t guard anyone and McCollum should have no problem knocking down jumpers and getting to the rim.

Klay Thompson ($6,700) vs. SA

The matchup isn’t ideal in this one, but Thompson is such a lethal shooter that individual matchups carry a lot less weight for me. His release is incredibly quick, so finding space isn’t much of an issue. The Warriors have so many weapons and Thompson tends to slide under the radar. There aren’t many options at the position tonight, so Thompson needs to be on your radar.

Value

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($5,100) vs. POR

KCP can get at as hot as anyone and is seeing a steady amount of minutes with the first unit. He has a great individual matchup against awful McCollum defense. KCP has been rebounding well lately, grabbing at least six boards in three of the last four games. I don’t mind the play tonight if you need the savings.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 2 – Small Forwards

Elite

Kevin Durant ($9,700) vs. SA

The most expensive play on the slate, Durant gets to play the Spurs without facing Kawhi Leonard. The matchup still isn’t easy, but Durant can’t be contained by anyone. His scoring efficiency is incredible and stuffs the box score in all categories. He’s been active defensively with over two blocks per game. If you can find the value, Durant is a solid play.

Mid-Tier

Brandon Ingram ($5,800) vs. POR

Ingram is starting to shoot the ball much better and is one of the Lakers who is locked into a heavy workload. Ingram is and will continue to be the focal point of the offensive production with Ball feeding him the rock and a handful of talented complimentary options. I’m not sure Ingram has much of a ceiling, but 35 DraftKings points wouldn’t break your lineup.

Value

Kyle Kuzma ($4,800) vs. POR

My favorite Lakers bench player, Kuzma has been on a tear since Summer League. He’s been shooting the ball extremely well and gets plenty of looks from deep. His last two games had capped minutes due to injury and a blowout, so I think we could see Kuzma return to a normal allotment tonight. He’s one of my favorite values tonight.

Evan Turner ($4,400) vs. LAL

The Portland role players are tough bunch to figure out, but a questionable tag for Al-Farouq Aminu could provide some clarity. If he is out tonight, I don’t think Turner sees increased minutes, but he should see more opportunities on offense. He has a higher ceiling than teammate Maurice Harkless. We don’t need too much from Turner tonight to hit value. Monitor this situation closely.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 2 – Power Forwards

Elite

LaMarcus Aldridge ($8,300) vs. GS

LMA is the top option at power forward tonight. However, I’m finding it difficult to plug him in on this small slate. His usage is great with Leonard on the floor, but you have to take a strong stand on these small slates and this is mine. You can still make an argument to roster him given the fact that he’s averaging 41 DraftKings points on the season. He’s not a terrible play, just not one of my favorites.

Mid-Tier

Draymond Green ($7,200) vs. SA

Green continues to do it all for the Warriors this season. He fills the box score in every way and is one of the most consistent plays as long as he doesn’t get ejected. If you’re looking for someone you can count on, Green is your guy. He should be able to get you 5x value tonight. The concern I have for GPPs is that this is a pace down game for the Warriors and Green’s ceiling might not be high enough to warrant a roster spot.

Value

Larry Nance ($5,200) vs. POR

The Lakers rotation has been tough to gauge this season, but when Nance gets the minutes, he’s almost a lock for a double-double. He is incredibly athletic and has been dominating the boards while Brook Lopez seems to be allergic to the paint. I think Nance fits the speed of this game extremely well and has a good chance of crushing tournament value.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 2 – Centers

Elite

None

Mid-Tier

Jusuf Nurkic ($5,900) vs. LAL

On most slates, the center position is almost overwhelmingly deep. Not so much tonight. Nurkic is the clear top pick at the position after finally having his breakout game. The Lakers should have their hands full keeping Nurkic off the boards tonight. I think he’s significantly underpriced and if Aminu misses the game, Nurkic should carry even more rebounding responsibilities. He’s a lock for me tonight.

More from FanSided

Pau Gasol ($5,400) vs. GS

Gasol has been steady this year and is a very versatile center. He passes well out of the post and has been rebounding well. A double-double certainly isn’t out of the question tonight as long as the Spurs can keep up. Gasol won’t see a huge number of minutes, but should get enough to be effective.

Value

Ed Davis ($3,900) vs. LAL

You’re not rostering Davis for consistency, but his ceiling is high enough at this price tag. If Aminu is sidelined, Davis could be in store for more minutes, which would make him a great value. The ball doesn’t run through Davis, but his rebounding ability could put him in position for a few putbacks. I like the play if we get word before game lock that Aminu is out.
