Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Targets for Week 3 November 2017
The NBA season has taken off in a hurry through week 3 and if your team is struggling with slow starters or injuries, we are here to help with our Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Targets for Week 3 in the NBA!
LeBron’s Cavs have struggled out of the gate, dropping their last 4, they sit at 3-5 towards the bottom of the standings. Things aren’t looking good with today’s news that Tristan Thompson will miss a month with a strained calf, an injury he suffered against the surprise Pacers who are being led by Paul George replacement Victor Oladipo. Oladipo is having a career year thanks to his 9th ranked usage rate and has been a steal for those who took a shot on him in fantasy drafts!
The Orlando Magic have also impressed with big wins in Cleveland and Memphis while also beating the Spurs. They have multiple young pieces contributing to their pace ranking of 3rd this year. Brooklyn, led by D’Angelo Russell has surprisingly led the league in pace. It hasn’t helped them much in the standings though.
Players must be owned in less than 50% of leagues to be eligible for this list. Without further ado, let’s look at some NBA week 3 waiver wire targets.
Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Targets – Top Forwards
TJ Warren 48.1%
- Warren looks like he’s in the Suns’ future fresh off a 40-10 game last night. I don’t know how this guy made the list after averaging 24 with 9 boards over the last week. He continues to receive good minutes for the Suns who are 2nd in pace this season.
Markieff Morris 43.9%
- Markieff Morris is projected to make his season debut from sports hernia surgery on Friday. I would believe he would step right back into his starting role as the stretch 4, pushing Kansas alum Kelly Oubre back to the bench. He was the 3rd leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder for the Wiz last year.
Ryan Anderson 38.6%
- Anderson is launching over 8 threes per game connecting at a 37% clip. Averaging 19 points over the last week, he continues to see open looks from the penetration and ball movement of his teammates.
Taurean Prince 23.9%
- Prince is getting all the opportunity to develop after averaging 37 minutes and 17 shots over the last week. He can easily be the 2nd best player on the Hawks this year. Coach Budenholzer will have a long leash with his second year forward.
Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Targets – Guards
Jeremy Lamb 45.2%
Lamb should be owned in all leagues while Nic Batum is sidelined. He’s contributing nicely to Charlotte’s 4
th
ranked rebounding efforts with just over 5 boards a game from the 2-guard spot. He’s also the Hornets’ 2
nd
leading scorer with 17 ppg.

Rajon Rondo 37.3%
- Rondo is expected back some time later this month. Playing for his 5th team in four years, he’ll now be joining the Pelicans who are playing at the 7th fastest pace thus far. He’s projected to slide into the starting lineup, bumping Jrue Holiday to the 2.
Tyreke Evans 35.1%
- Evans looks young and thin in his first stint with the Grizzlies. An early dark horse 6th Man of the Year candidate, Evans is averaging over 15 points for a team badly in need of a third scorer. I think he’s found a solid role in the Grind House.
TJ McConnell 10%
- McConnell hasn’t disappointed since being rewarded with extra run after the Markelle Fultz injury averaging a line of 13-4-7 over the last week. Jerryd Bayless is still starting and averaging more minutes, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see McConnell start eating into those minutes if Fultz continues to be sidelined. Bayless is averaging just 2 assists compared to McConnell’s 5 on the season.
