With a massive championship rematch set to occur, let’s look ahead at the May 22, 2019 edition of NXT UK.

The main event this week — both in an anticipatory sense and a literal one — is the second edition of Pete Dunne versus WALTER. After a top rope splash crushed both Dunne’s marathon title run and Dunne himself, WALTER ascended to the top of NXT UK, winning the WWE United Kingdom Championship at TakeOver: New York.

Now — simply because Dunne was a polite man who asked the competition-hungry champ for a match face-to-face — we get to see them do it all over again. Obviously, that first match is a lot to stack up to, being one of the premier contests of the entire WrestleMania weekend.

Unfortunately, there’s a good chance the sequel won’t completely live up to its predecessor. As it is likely to be the third or fourth match on a show that is only an hour long, Dunne vs. WALTER II simply just won’t have the time to do so. But, at the end of the day, it’s still a title match between Pete Dunne and WALTER, two of the best on whole WWE roster. It should still completely deliver its share of thrills.

Dunne and WALTER aren’t, however, the only two slated to have a rematch on this show. After a pair of knee injuries ended their bout from the March 27 episode of NXT UK in a referee stoppage, Mark Andrews and Noam Dar will look to literally finish what they started. And good thing too, because they were having a really good match until the unfortunate ending. Here’s hoping this one gets the satisfying conclusion the last one deserved.

There should also be some Kassius Ohno-related developments on this episode. Last week, the Wrestling Knockout Genius Artist cornered Sid Scala to ask why he was being overlooked. After all, it really doesn’t make much sense that Ligero got a qualifying match for the fatal four-way, while Ohno didn’t, even though Ohno prevailed in their very recent meeting.

How can the humble American wrestler show his UK counterparts what pure British wrestling is all about if he isn’t given any chances? Scala promised him that things would be figured out next week, and now next week has become this week. So, it stands to reason that — unless Sid Scala is a liar — the question of why Ohno might be getting overlooked will be all sorted out.
