One-On-One-Plus-One

Much like Blofeld in Spectre but way more enjoyable, Jinny has been the author of Xia Brookside’s pain for the last couple of months. Paying off those weeks and months of various frustrations, Brookside at last gets a one-on-one match with Jinny. Sure, Jazzy Gabert is at ringside as Jinny’s insurance policy, but that surely won’t affect the outcome of the match, right?

It does. First off, Jinny — who ever since teaming up with Gabert has seemed determined to achieve great success without ever having to actually do anything — tells Gabert that actually, she doesn’t need her for this particular match. Brookside? Pfft. She’s already pinned her once before! Jazzy does not take this occasion, or any for that matter, to actually leave ringside; this is all part of Jinny’s plans to continuously mess with Brookside.

Commentary is worried Xia might be too distracted by Jazzy’s presence. If anything though, she might not be distracted enough. Xia goes to the outside after missing on a baseball slide, but manages to hang her opponent up on the middle rope. However, she does it right in front of Gabert. When Brookside goes to get back into the ring paying no mind to the enforcer next to her, she gets pulled off and smacks her face against the apron, giving Jinny an edge in the match that never really gets away from her.

Later, Brookside and Jinny run into each other shoulder first, a collision of such great force that Jinny recoils backwards. In that motion, she mildly smacks the ref who is like “Ow, wtf.” While trying to decide if he’s actually hurt, Jazzy grabs Brookside’s foot, causing her to commit the cardinal sin of turning away from your opponent during a wrestling match. Not distracted enough by Gabert to know she shouldn’t be idly standing where Jazzy has been standing literally the whole time, Brookside gets rolled up and pinned by Jinny. You hate to see it.

After, in a “WWE.com Exclusive,” Jinny is miffed at an interviewer’s claim that she won the match with a little “help.” She asserts that it’s not “help” because her and Jazzy are a team, the most dominant force in NXT UK. No matter who steps into the ring, the two of them are going straight to the top. Maybe they should consider getting involved in that Women’s Tag Team division that purportedly exists.
