Unfortunately for folks who bet on the Las Vegas Raiders to cover against the Miami Dolphins, things just didn’t go their way on Sunday.

The showdown between the Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins turned out to be a great one, with things needing to go to overtime. In the end, the Raiders were able to record a heart-stopping 31-28 win.

While that’s good news for Las Vegas, it wasn’t so great for those who had the Raiders at -3.5 points for the spread, per Wynnbet. Late in the fourth quarter, things looked promising, but Jacoby Brissett and the Dolphins had other ideas.

The Miami Dolphins ruined Sunday for countless bettors out there

Las Vegas was up 25-17, but then Miami went on a final drive that ended with a rushing touchdown by Brissett. With the score 25-23, Miami then went for two and was able to convert to force overtime.

In the extra session, the two teams traded field goals before Daniel Carlson connected on the game-winner. Las Vegas looked like they were going to score a touchdown in the extra session, which of course would have covered, but the team had to settle for the three-point win.

At the end of the day, Jon Gruden could care less if his team covered the spread or not. What matters to him is that his team got the win and they’re 3-0 to start the season. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs are 1-2, which no one saw coming.

With the Raiders looking like serious threats this season, and Derek Carr looking like an MVP candidate, Las Vegas sure is ready to make plenty of noise the rest of the season. Come next week, countless bettors will be ready to see what they can do going up against the Chargers.
