Report: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury booked for Dec. 18
Report: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury booked for Dec. 18.
Boxing fans wanted the controversial YouTuber turned boxing star Jake Paul to face a real boxer, and they’ll get their wish as it appears that Tommy Fury will fight him later this year.
The Sun, a U.K. publication, was among the first outlets to report the news of the Paul vs. Fury booking. The fight is reported to take place in Miami, FL but a venue hasn’t been finalized just yet.
Showtime PPV will host the event on Dec. 18 in a highly-anticipated boxing match to wrap up 2021.
Tommy is the younger brother of Tyson Fury, a two-time world heavyweight champion who most recently won his trilogy with Deontay Wilder. In his last fight, Tommy defeated one of Paul’s training partners, Anthony Taylor by unanimous decision on the same card that Paul defeated former UFC champion, Tyron Woodley.
Following the Paul vs. Woodley fight, Fury and Paul got into a bit of a heated confrontation backstage that nearly turned into an all-out brawl before security personnel intervened. The two boxers have gone back and forth on social ever since over contract negotiations but ended up following through on a deal.

Paul is considered by many boxing fans to be one of the most polarizing athletes in the sport’s history. He has won fights over former MMA fighters Woodley and Ben Askren, former NBA star Nate Robinson and fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib.
Fury will enter the ring with Paul with a 7-0 record, despite being widely criticized for the quality of his opponents. His first five professional boxing opponents hold a combined record of 12-174-5.
The buildup to the Paul vs. Fury bout will surely be interesting, as the two have got on each other’s nerves for months on social media and in-person.
