Oklahoma football freshman quarterback Caleb Williams entered the Sooners record books with his performance in the win vs. Texas Tech.
While Caleb Williams hasn’t been perfect for the Oklahoma Sooners, he’s been a significant improvement over Spencer Rattler. The latter quarterback’s struggles early on this season led to playing time for Williams, and now he’s making some history for the Sooners.
Oklahoma’s offense is designed to help a quarterback flourish. The Sooners score tons of touchdowns and they do it regularly. While facing off against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Williams scored a handful of touchdowns.
To be a bit more specific, the Sooners’ freshman quarterback threw five touchdown passes against Texas Tech.

Oklahoma football: Caleb Williams makes Sooners history against Texas Tech Red Raiders
All of those touchdowns scored?
Well, that’s good enough to make some history for the Sooners. No other true freshman quarterback in Oklahoma’s history has thrown for that many touchdowns in a single game.

So, although Williams isn’t perfect, he’s innovative and he’s good enough to make history happen for the Sooners. And that’s good enough for the Sooners to keep winning and improving each and every week.
