UNC basketball can punch its ticket to the Final Four on Sunday with a win over No. 15 Saint Peter’s as Hubert Davis’ team looks to win March Madness for the first time since 2017.

While Saint Peter’s might be the Cinderella of this year’s NCAA Tournament, North Carolina is ready to put things to a close for the Peacocks. The two sides will meet on Sunday in the Elite Eight, and the Tar Heels are 8.5-point favorites.

North Carolina has been powered by the outstanding play of Brady Manek and Caleb Love, as the two have UNC fans dreaming of the program winning the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time.

North Carolina has won March Madness six times

Behind only UCLA (11) and Kentucky (eight), North Carolina has won the big dance six times. They most recently won it all back in 2017, with the Tar Heels taking down Gonzaga in the National Championship Game. That’s the closest Mark Few and the Spokane school has come to cutting down the nets. Gonzaga was favored to finally get the job done this year, but they choked in the Sweet 16.

As for North Carolina, this team continues to surprise plenty of people, with its tournament being highlighted by the upset of No. 1 Baylor in the second round. Manek was ejected in the second half due to a Flagrant 2, but his teammates were able to get the win in overtime without him.

Then in the Sweet 16 against UCLA, Love was unstoppable against the Bruins, as he was drilling shots from all over the hardwood. Both Manek and Love will need to play strong in order to take down the Peacocks on Sunday. If UNC does move on, they’ll be ready to make plenty of noise in the Final Four and hope to bring home another natty to Chapel Hill.
