There is a new documentary series coming to Apple TV+ in which film crews will follow several WSL athletes as they compete for a world title.

Apple TV+ has been putting out amazing content since they first burst onto the streaming scene. They now recently announced a new series that will be available for streaming later this month. A new documentary series called “Make or Break” will show the ins and outs of the World Surf League (WSL) and the top athletes as they compete for a world title.

This exclusive behind-the-scenes view of some of the world’s top surfers will be available for viewing on April 29 only on Apple TV+. Ahead of the first airing, the season has already been green-lit for a second season.

The series will follow the WSL Championship Tour athletes during their 2021 season. The film crews will capture the athletes in response to the pandemic, tough competition with their peers, amazing surf locations, and other sensitive topics such as diversity, mental health, and the physical impact of the sport.

There will be seven episodes in season one and each will follow these top athletes:

  • 11-Time World Champion and 56-Time Career Victory Winner Kelly Slater
  • Seven-Time World Champion Stephanie Gilmore
  • Three-Time World Champion Gabriel Medina
  • Two-Time World Champion Tyler Wright
  • 2019 World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Italo Ferreira
  • 2021 Olympian Tatiana Weston-Webb

Along with this list of legends, the series will also feature Morgan Cibilic, Johanne Defay, Leonardo Fioravanti, Jeremy Flores, John John Florence, Filipe Toledo, Kanoa Igarashi, Matt McGillivray, Isabella Nichols, and Jack Robinson.

This series is the latest of Apple TV’s sports non-fiction programming that includes  “They Call Me Magic,” about Earvin Magic Johnson,  “The Dynasty” a documentary about The New England Patriots, and a future documentary about Formula One world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton.
