LSU radio call of game-winning two-point conversion to beat Alabama is incredible
LSU radio broadcaster Chris Blair’s call of the game-winning two-point conversion against Alabama is one to have Death Valley rocking into the night.
Mason Taylor, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, helped LSU score a massive upset over the Alabama Crimson Tide as a freshman.
Taylor caught a pass from quarterback Jayden Daniels in overtime to secure a 32-31 win and likely knock Alabama out of the playoff picture.
As you can imagine, the scene in Death Valley was unbelievable, as was the radio call by Chris Blair, whose voice on the game-winning play perfectly captures the moment and the exuberance shared by the men in purple and gold.
LSU radio call of the massive upset over Alabama will have Death Valley rocking
Hey, now, indeed. A touchdown during the game and then a game-winning two-point conversion in overtime? How about that moment for the young man, who, despite being a freshman, just made the biggest play of his career thus far?
Moreover, how about this LSU program and what they just did? For the first time in quite some time, they beat Alabama in Death Valley. The Tigers have beaten the Tide before but in Tuscaloosa.
Early on, it just felt as if the same script would be written, and Alabama would find a way to once again come to the Bayou and leave with a victory. But not this time. LSU would respond, as would Daniels. The transfer from Arizona State would not be fazed and merely settled down after a rough start. LSU would lead 7-6 at the half, but the game was far from over.
Alabama showcased who they are and got the game to go an extra period. But when it got to overtime, Brian Kelly opted to go for an aggressive call for the win, and somehow, it worked out, and the fans stormed the field. Now, LSU controls its destiny to ensure Alabama does not play for the conference title from the West Division while Georgia runs the other side of the conference.
For now, it’s a significant victory for the Purple and Gold, and maybe, just maybe, there is something special going on in Death Valley. At least for now, they can breathe a little before going up against Arkansas. All the Tigers have to do is win out, then they will head to Atlanta for the conference title game and ensure that the Crimson Tide are not in the playoffs in 2023.
