A security guard made sure that LSU Tigers fans didn’t steal the goalposts after the team’s win over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Alabama Crimson Tide suffered their first loss of the season against the Tennessee Volunteers. As Tennessee fans celebrated on the field, they ripped the goalposts out of Neyland Stadium, walked down the street before throwing them into the Tennessee River.

Let’s just say that security at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. was not going to let that happen.

On Saturday, the LSU Tigers picked up a clutch 32-31 upset win in overtime against the Crimson Tide. Fans stormed the field to celebrate. Well, there was one security guard photographed by Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger who was standing by a goalpost, ensuring that it was not removed.

That goalpost wasn’t going anywhere. LSU made sure that they didn’t have to pay for new goalposts for the stadium.

The Tigers won in overtime after quarterback Jayden Daniels ran for a 25-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 31-30. Instead of going for the extra point to send it to double overtime, head coach Brian Kelly expressed confidence in his offense, and went for two. Well, Daniels connected with Taylor once again for the extra two points to secure the victory.

Now, to see where the Tigers will be ranked by the College Football Playoff committee to get a better idea of what a path to the semifinals could look like.
