When Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch fell to the ground on Sunday afternoon, it was clear he was going to miss some time. How much though, was the question.

Today we have our answer as the Lions defender will miss the remainder of the 2014 season after he suffered a torn ACL in a win over the Green Bay Packers. Of course, this wasn’t the typical ACL tear, in fact it was about as odd as you can get.
If you missed it, Tulloch was celebrating a sack on Aaron Rodgers and in Bill Gramatica fashion injured himself in the process. Attempting to do his best ‘Discount Double Check’ impression, Tulloch immediately fell to the ground and needed assistance to get off the field.
The hope was nothing more than a mild injury like an ankle sprain, but that obviously was not the case. Stephen Tulloch talked about the injury and says he’s not embarrassed by the situation.
“I’ve been playing nine years and never missed a game in my career,” Stephen Tulloch said. “I’ve been fortunate enough to take care of my family and do some good things in the league. I’m never embarrassed of anything I do, and I made a play on the quarterback to help my team.
“Unfortunately, I got up in celebration and it happened. But I ain’t embarrassed by nothing. We all celebrate when we make a play.”
DeAndre Levy will play in place for Tulloch moving forward.
