Life is pretty good for Oklahoma City Thunder forward and reigning NBA MVP, Kevin Durant. Fresh off signing a massive endorsement contract with Nike, the company decided to throw Durant a birthday party that would be the envy of any five-year-old.

More from Kevin Durant

Durant, who appeared destined to leave Nike, was at their headquarters in Oregon recently where the company threw him a special Oklahoma City Thunder-Washington Redskins themed party. Included at the shindig was a cake made to replicate the Thunder’s basketball court along with a Washington Redskins jersey made out of frosting.

As if that wasn’t sweet enough, Nike presented Kevin Durant with a custom Washington Redskins inspired shoe.

Now you’re probably thinking – a shoe? Really? That’s the best Nike could come up with? Well, what do you buy a guy who you just gave somewhere between $250-$280 million dollars? Kevin Durant can pretty much buy anything he wants so a custom shoe is a pretty nice gift for somebody that’s as big a sneakerhead as Durant is. Judging by the wide grin on his face as he checked out the shoe, they did rather well.

All that said, I’m more impressed with that customized cake. First off, that thing is massive. Secondly, it must weight upwards of a few hundred pounds at least. Those in the pastry industry can do some amazing things with their products and that’s a pretty sweet cake.
