The Patriots scored the game’s first 14 points and held a 17-3 lead in the final minute of the first half.
The Bengals looked to get something and Andy Dalton found star receiver A.J. Green. Green, however, had the ball stripped by Darrelle Revis. Jamie Collins recovered for the Patriots but he was hit by Giovani Bernard and fumbled. Patriots’ cornerback Alfonzo Dennard then recovered that fumble.
It led to a field goal, giving the Patriots a 20-3 halftime lead.
