For parts of three seasons wide receiver Greg Little suited up with the Cleveland Browns who drafted the former North Carolina star in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Things looked promising for Little who put up over 700 yards in his rookie campaign, though his sophomore year was considered to be a bit of a disappointment as his numbers didn’t increase. The third year wasn’t a charm either as Greg Little struggled in 16 games only posting 465 yards.
The struggles eventually lead to the Cleveland Browns releasing Little who has since struggled to catch on.
Now a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, the wide receiver ripped his former team who he’ll match up against on Thursday night.
Little peppered an interview with Cincinnati.com with many bulletin board quotes that likely raised a few eyebrows in Cleveland.
“They let me go with virtually no wide receivers outside. Hawkins is playing well, that’s a good credit to him but it was kind of a good time — I don’t know what it was, man. They let me go, I’m playing them and somebody has to pay.”
While it’s understandable as to why Greg Little is out for revenge, he hasn’t exactly seen much playing time with the Bengals either as he’s played in three games and has four receptions to his credit. That’s with Pro Bowl talent A.J. Green sidelined who could very well return for Thursday Night Football.
It’s going to take a perfect storm for Greg Little to see much action against the Cleveland Browns but it seems as if he’s ready to make a big play if he gets the opportunity.
