Move over, Brian Hoyer, LeBron James has had enough of you and wants Johnny Manziel to be the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback.
Okay, maybe the Cleveland Cavaliers star didn’t go that far to railroad Hoyer after the signal caller was turned into human roadkill on Sunday afternoon which allowed Manziel to enter the game and score his first NFL touchdown.
Still, James does admit he wants Johnny Manziel as the Cleveland Browns quarterback moving forward.
LeBron asked about Hoyer/Manziel: "I'm one of (Manziel's) biggest supporters ... He's part of the family so of course I want him out there"

At this point, who can blame him? Nothing against Brian Hoyer who has held his own, but he’s been sitting on a proverbial bomb for weeks now as barring a Pro Bowl caliber season he was never going to do enough to keep Manziel on the bench. In fact, it’s pretty shocking that it took this long to have a quarterback controversy, though much of that can be attributed to the Browns who’ve been adamant about keeping the former Texas A&M star on the sidelines.
Of course, just because LeBron James wants Johnny Manziel to start for the Cleveland Browns doesn’t mean he’s going to get his wish. We’ve seen the Browns coaching staff be reluctant to play Manziel with a healthy Hoyer and with Cleveland’s playoff aspirations on life support the last thing they want to do is hand the ball over to a rookie who may extinigish their postseason hopes.
Still, Johnny Manziel isn’t just a typical rookie and while he’ll certainly have his struggles, as he showed on Sunday afternoon, he can also be a lightning rod of excitement and put points on the board.
We’ll see if LeBron James gets his wish this coming weekend.
