It’s been a wonderful day for the Cincinnati Bengals who obliterated the Cleveland Browns in the battle of Ohio.
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis was just hoping the team could get through the game without any injury given the score, though sadly that wasn’t the case as two Cincinnati Bengals defenders collided in a nasty helmet-to-helmet hit.
Attempting to tackle Cleveland Browns running back Isaiah Crowell, the Bengals players converged on the play and ended up smacking their lids together, sending both to the ground.
It was a scary scene as we know just how dangerous helmet-to-helmet hits can be, so hopefully both players are okay and have avoided any concussion. Both are understandably being attended to by the Cincinnati Bengals medical staff and being put through the concussion protocol.
With just minutes left in the game there’s no reason to put either defender back in the game, even if they pass the testing as there’s little reason to risk any further injury.
Helmet safety has come a long way in recent years but even air padding can’t stop players from getting concuss or suffering head injuries considering the speed of which impacts occur.
