How much did the superfecta payout for the 2015 Belmont Stakes?
If you’re not a seasoned veteran when it comes to betting on the ponies, a superfecta is a bet where you pick the first four finishers of the race in the correct order they finished.
You may have heard of a trifecta, which is similar, but less “super” because there you’re only picking the correct finishing order for the top three finishers, hence the prefix, “tri.”
These types of bets are more fun than simply picking American Pharoah to win the Belmont Stakes, because you stand to make a nice return on your investment.
Betting on the favorites to win is a good strategy if you want to “win” the bet, but gamblers are more concerned with winning money, so this is a chance to be bold and leave the track with a nice fat roll of $2o bills in your pocket.
In an eight-horse field like this year’s Belmont, the odds are still long in picking the top four in order but compared to the near-20 horse field at a race like the Kentucky Derby, you have to like your odds when the field is considerably smaller.
So now that you are abreast of what a superfecta is, let’s take a look at the finishing order for this year’s race and the payouts.
The order of the top four was 5-6-7-1 with American Pharoah winning the race and the Triple Crown. A $1 superfecta bet resulted in a massive $285 payout, so if you won, congratulations, and if you didn’t at least you saw history made with American Pharoah taking the Triple Crown.
