DraftKings Main MLB Picks For June 10
We only have six games in our main DraftKings tournament. Neither of the late doubleheader games are in here, so it really does limit our options, and takes SunTrust Park out of play in the evening slate. We still have a couple of aces, and a few good mid tier options. Who should we go with? Let’s check some stats!

The money line was down to 108.3 DraftKings points due to poor pitching from many highly owned guys. My lineup with Jhoulys Chacin and Corey Kluber was solid, but the hitters were not. My other lineup was honestly the worst one I have ever built. Peacock and Triggs lost a total of 16.2 points, and the only hitter in double digits was Mookie Betts at ten.
The winning lineup was still pretty high at 215.35. He used Ervin Santana‘s shutout of the Giants with Kulber along with huge games from his outfielders (Mallex Smith, Steven Souza, and Giancarlo Stanton) to take down the tournament.
These picks are based mostly on statistical analysis . If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players. Check out this post from Matt McGarvey for great tips about whether to use a hot player in DFS or not.

Next: DraftKings Main Lineup
P: Justin Verlander ($7,700): I know that Verlander has struggled at times this year, and this is a good lineup, but this seems too cheap for him. That said, the 6.53 road ERA is going to scare many off despite the fact that the Red Sox have hit just .185 off of him in 124 at bats. They do have seven home runs, but only eight runs scored and 29 strikeouts. This lineup is not for the faint of heart. This lineup is either going to scored 175 points or 50. There may not be an in between.
P: Marcus Stroman ($8,600): The Mariners have hit .355 against Stroman in 31 at bats, but they only have one extra base hit and two runs while striking out ten times. That average is due for an adjustment considering their lack of success overall. I think that starts here tonight.
C: Mike Zunino($3,800): Zunino is so hot right now that he has even been playing against right handed pitching. He is 13-35 with three homers and 14 RBI since being recalled from AAA Tacoma. Look out folks. He seems to have figured this hitting thing out.
1B: Victor Martinez ($3,200): I have ignored teams that have had good histories against Chris Sale this year, especially his former foes in the A.L. Central. I just don’t know if I can do it here. The Tigers are priced right, and they have slugged 16 home runs off of him with a .275 average. V-Mart is insanely cheap for his career numbers against Sale. He is 21-49(.429) with four walks, three doubles, four homers, nine runs scored, and nine RBI against Sale. I will take my chances for this price!
2B: Ian Kinsler ($4,200): Kinsler would be an easier one to fade considering the $1,000 price increase, but Kinsler is leading off. He is also 12-45(.267) with six walks, two doubles, three homers, six runs scored, and five RBI against Sale. If the Tigers hit as well against him as they have, Kinsler will be heavily involved.
3B: Jake Lamb ($5,600): Junior Guerra pitched very well against Arizona in his one try. It was Lamb that hit the only blemish off of him, a solo home run. Guerra may pitch well again, but there aren’t many parks that can hold Lamb anymore. The ball is going to fly out of Chase Field with as warm as it is in Phoenix this weekend.
SS: Jose Iglesias ($3,800): Iglesias is heating up at the right time for the Tigers. He is also 9-29(.310) with a walk, a double, a homer, two runs scored, and two RBI off of Sale. Iglesias is another that could be faded, but this is a shallow position anyway even without a small slate.
OF: Chris Taylor ($4,600): Taylor will continue leading off for the Dodgers until he cools off, I would guess. Asher Wojciechowski has allowed five earned runs in only 4.1 road innings so far this year. Dodger Stadium will help those numbers, as will the lack of left handed power for L.A. However, Taylor has hit everyone this year. It doesn’t matter what hand they throw with.
OF: J.D. Martinez ($4,600): Martinez is only 9-35(.257), but he has two doubles, three homers, three runs scored, and six RBI against Chris Sale. The Tigers are the type of team that could really do damage against Sale with the wealth of right handed power in this lineup. I know I am in the minority here, but if the Tigers blow up Sale, I’m easily in the money.
OF: Mark Trumbo ($3,800): Trumbo and the ailing Manny Machado have clobbered Luis Severino. Trumbo is 4-10 with a double, two walks, two homers, three runs cored, and three RBI in his career off of Severino. That makes Trumbo look like a major bargain. If Machado is in the lineup, he has hit three homers against Severino, so I will use him as well.
Next: DraftKings Main Lineup 2
P: Luis Severino ($9,800): The Orioles are only hitting .241 in 83 at bats against Luis Severino, but they have hit five homers against him. However, Manny Machado has three of those. If Machado is out of the lineup again, I really like Severino. If Machado plays, will likely move on to Alex Wood.

P: Ariel Miranda ($7,400): Miranda was outstanding against the Blue Jays back on May 14th in Toronto. He allowed only one run in five innings while striking out eight. He gets a park upgrade to Safeco Field, and is coming off of a shutout in his last outing. Miranda is very underpriced tonight, even against a potentially potent Blue Jay offense.
C: Devin Mesoraco ($2,500): Alex Wood was pitching very well before landing on the DL, and he will likely to the same tonight. However, just in case there is some rust, I’m going to throw a cheap hitter with right handed power at him just in case.
1B: Mitch Moreland ($3,600): Moreland is 9-27 with two walks, six doubles, three runs scored, and five RBI in his career against Justin Verlander. As bad as Verlander has been lately, I wouldn’t blame you for stacking Red Sox. However, every time I stack Red Sox, they fail. I will take my Moreland and be happy.
2B: Jose Ramirez ($4,600): Cleveland has a lot more potency from the left side, which David Holmberg will help neutralize. However, these picks are good for the entire game, not just for when the starter is in. Holmberg has pitched well, but he has yet to last five innings in a start. That means Cleveland will get to tee off against the White Sox bullpen. Ramirez may be the best right handed hitter on this team, but the lefties aren’t off limits if you are looking for a less used stack.
3B: Matt Davidson ($3,400): Davidson has only faced Josh Tomlin once. He hit a three run homer off of him. Tomlin has had issues with gopher balls this year, especially in Cleveland. Tomlin has allowed seven homers in six home starts, and has a 6.19 ERA at Progressive Field this year. He was clobbered by the Sox back on April 13th at home, giving up seven runs in just 1.2 innings pitched. Stack some White Sox today!
SS: Didi Gregorius ($4,400): Gregorius is 9-18 with two walks, five doubles, a triple, four runs scored, and two RBI in his career against Chris Tillman. Gregorius doesn’t need to hit one out of the park to provide a productive night. He has the proven track record against Tillman, and should be on base at least once.
OF: Brett Gardner ($4,800): Gardner is 11-41(.268) with eight walks, three doubles, a homer, six runs scored, and five RBI in his career against Chris Tillman. Tillman also has an ugly 6.34 ERA in nine starts at Yankee Stadium. Stacking Yankees is going to be chalk tonight, but it will likely be worth it.
OF: Eric Thames ($4,900): After a quiet May, Thames is heating up again. He has three homers in June, and is travelling to a park that is nearly as friendly as his own. Zack Godley has had a brilliant season so far, but Thames has otherwordly power. I will take that chance.
OF: Aaron Hicks ($4,500): Hicks has hit his stride in New York after failing in Minnesota. It seems as though the Twins gave up on another outfield prospect too early just like they did with Carlos Gomez and Denard Span. Hicks has shown power for both sides of the plate, and Yankee Stadium only helps that. Considering Tillman’s awful career numbers in Steinbrenner Palace, Hicks is a nice pick to get some big points tonight.
