Coming into the Free Agency period this week, it was deemed near impossible that Sidney Rice would be returning to the Seattle Seahawks. But as Ian Rapoport is now reporting, it’s becoming a little more likely that the team could bring Rice back after all before all is said and done.

Rice was generally a consistent force in the Seahawks offense in previous years, but in last year’s run to the Super Bowl title, he was virtually non-existent. Therefore, he was deemed expendable heading into free agency.

But, you would have to think that the recent loss of Golden Tate to the Detroit Lions may have played a bit of a part in their recent change of heart. While they have manageable pieces on the offensive side of the ball, more help certainly wouldn’t hurt and that’s what Rice could bring.

Whether or not they’re completely serious about this remains to be seen, but again, it couldn’t hurt.
