The Minnesota Vikings are in a good position in the 2014 NFL draft as they own the eighth pick in the first round and could be in position to land one of the big quarterbacks in the draft, including Johnny Manziel, but the Vikings may pass on a QB in round one, according to Tony Pauline.
Word from several sources; Minnesota Vikings heavily leaning towards Zach Mettenberger/QB/LSU in 2nd, looking for LB (Khalil Mack/UB) in 1st

Khalil Mack has been lauded as the best player in the draft by NFL Media draft analyst Mel Kiper, so it’s no sure thing that the former Buffalo Bulls would be on the clock when the Vikings are up with their first pick.
With Chad Greenway the only consistent linebacker on the team and considering he’s on the wrong side of 30, the team could be looking at shoring up the position for the foreseeable future with Mack who would bring a pass-rushing element the team lost with Jared Allen leaving via free agency.
It will be interesting to see which direction the club goes if both Mack and Manziel are on the board.
