On Monday morning, a report surfaced that South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney would no longer be working out for teams around the league leading up to the 2014 NFL Draft and there is a belief out there that the decision was made once Clowney learned where he would be selected.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller says the belief around the league is that Clowney will no longer be going on pre-draft visits after being informed that he will be the No. 1 overall pick of the Houston Texans.

Clowney is reportedly visiting with the Texans next week — despite the reports that he will not be working out — so it is very possible that he and his agent could begin negotiations with the Texans during his visit.

The draft is just over three weeks away, so the Texans will need to begin finalizing their decision.

If the buzz around the league is true, then the only thing they will need to hammer out is how much they will pay one of the best defensive prospects to enter the draft in the past decade.
