Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans just robbed 30 seconds of your life that you’ll never, ever get back.
I assume it does make sense to conjure up imaginative ways to sell your product if the conventional way isn’t working. I mean, why not?
It seems for the New Orleans Pelicans the conventional way is most definitely not working.
They currently sit with a 24-21 record which is good enough for ninth best in the Western Conference. Along with the fact that they showcase the best young talent in the game in forward Anthony Davis, attendance should be in great shape.
However, attendance is not on the Pelicans side right now. They rank 25th in the league in that category according to ESPN.
So, the genius advertising suits in the Pelicans front office came up with this beauty:
Nope, you’re not tripping on acid. You don’t have the flu. You don’t have a severe hangover nor did you just meet Michael J. Fox and jump in his DeLorean.
What you witnessed is the Pelicans attempt to bring you back to the 1970’s and once again enjoy one of those fantastic in-your-face furniture ads.
New Orleans better be careful. After performances like this Hollywood could be calling these guys’ names. Davis, Tyreke Evans and Ryan Anderson could have Oscars coming their way in the near future.
Furthermore, New Yorkers won’t believe how cheap Pelicans tickets are.
