Two teammates come together for greatest home run robbery of all-time, even if it was Wiffle Ball.

There’s no understating how much men love competition. We’ll get it anywhere we can find it, from racing the kids to the car to arm wrestling or even shooting scraps of paper at the trash can in the office. However, these dudes playing in the Hess Field Wiffle Ball World Series may have taken the cake.

Our lone highlight from the event comes in during the bottom of the third inning and the A’s at the plate, trailing 3-0 to the Yankees. The unnamed hitter launches a scream to center field, when all of a sudden center fielder Jesse Horwedel and third baseman Zac Longo combined to do this.

That’s right, Horwedel skied up for the liner and slaps it into play, where Longo dives to catch it before it hits the ground. It’s the rare 8-5 fly ball put-out. You just don’t see many of those in the score books. There is all sorts of greatness is this short clip, from the insane movement on the ball to the batter ripping it a new one and finally to the great combo play.

Needless to say, the catch became very important for the Yankees, who ended up winning the game 4-1 and took a 2-0 lead in the best of five series, according to the very professional league website. The Yankees will look to wrap up their title on Sunday the 16th.

If they do, I imagine there will be quite a few beers owed to Horwedel and Longo.
