Baltimore Orioles slugger Mark Trumbo crushes New York Yankees reliever Ben Heller’s offering for his league-leading 40th home run of the season.

MLB veteran first baseman and outfielder Mark Trumbo has seen a career resurgence playing for the 2016 Baltimore Orioles. He made his second trip to the MLB All-Star this past July and has already set a career high in home runs.

Trumbo continues to crush the baseball for Baltimore, as he is seen pummeling New York Yankees relief pitcher Ben Heller’s offering deep to left-center field for his league-leading 40th home run on the season.

Up 3-0 in the top of the eighth inning, Trumbo lifts Heller’s 94 MPH fastball offering right down the plate deep into the Baltimore bullpen. It was a two-run homer and put Baltimore up 5-0 late on the Yankees.

With that home run, Trumbo needs only four runs batted in to tie his career of 100 stemming back to the 2013 MLB season when he was with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Baltimore maintains control of its second American League Wild Card spot. The Orioles trail the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox in the American League East, but have a top five record in the Junior Circuit.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards tends to favor hitters more than pitchers, but Trumbo has had elite power from the right side of the plate for a long time. This resurgence of his in 2016 stems from playing the second half of last year in spacious Safeco Field with the American League West’s Seattle Mariners.
