Former Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed bolted the defending Super Bowl champions this offseason in favor of a bigger deal with the Houston Texans. As has become the trend among longtime members of a team that leave for another franchise, Reed wanted to thank the fans that he spent so much time performing for so he took out a full page ad in the Baltimore Sun.
The Ravens shared the ad that Reed took out on Sunday morning via their Instagram page.
Here is an image of the ad:
It read:
"Ravens Nation, My eleven seasons in Baltimore were more than I would have everimagined, which is why I have such deep love for you all. I will forevercherish my time with the Ravens and the chills that ran down my spinewhen I finally kissed the Lombardi Trophy.Special thanks to the City, Team, Organization and all the Fans! I’m goingto miss being a part of this tremendous team and organization, but I’llalways be Baltimore and my Foundation will remain in this community, this is not a goodbye, but a See You Soon.Thank you for everything Baltimore, God Bless you.ED REED #20"
Reed will return to Baltimore later this season as a member of the Texans when the two sides face off, but he wanted to reach out to the Baltimore fans before that moment. It was a very classy move.
