If there is anything I know for certain about Twitter, and it’s limited, it would be that an athlete vents to Twitter and spends days recovering. Newly acquired Texas Rangers pitcher Matt Garza is the latest athlete to put his foot in his mouth on Twitter.

It all started with Oakland Athletics infielder Eric Sogard and his seventh inning bunt that brought home Alberto Collapso to give Oakland a 2 run lead. Garza has an issue throwing to first base and the announcers even speculate that it could spell trouble for the Rangers down the stretch or in the post season if teams decide to focus on that particular weakness.

The Oakland Athletics tested that out bunting four different times in the game. Most likely a strategy play that wasn’t intended to turn into a “get in his head” plan. The Athletics are now living rent free upstairs in Garza’s head and caused Garza to vent on Twitter.

Some how Eric Sogard’s wife gets dragged into this.

Garza’s twitter account is protected to only confirmed followers. I don’t know if that happened before or after. Mike Taddow also tweeted this Garza tweet that sounds less anti-bunting than his actions show.

The Sogard’s seem to find the humor in Garza’s tweets.
