Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta suffered a serious hip injury early in training camp when he went down with a dislocated and fractured hip, but there is still some belief that he could return late in the regular season. Pitta underwent surgery on his hip on July 27 and now he is going for further evaluation in New York to see how well he is recovering from the surgery early in the process.

From Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports 1:

If Pitta could get back to 100 percent and return for the home stretch of the season, it would be a great boost for the Ravens if they are still in the playoff mix and get Joe Flacco’s favorite target back on the field.

Last season, Pitta hauled in 61 passes for 669 yards and seven touchdowns.
