With Week 26 of the Major League Soccer season in the books, it is clear that many individuals proved their worth to their clubs and the league as a whole. Despite numerous being deserving, here is this week’s top-three.

Kelyn Rowe, New England Revolution

Rowe netted not one, but two, stunning goals from distance in the Revs’ decisive 5-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union. The first coming from a picture-perfect pass from midfielder Chad Barrett, the Revolution forward was able to open up the scoring for his side. After Philadelphia mustered an equalizer early in the second half, two disallowed goals and an own goal by Amobi Okugo occured before Rowe deposited his second goal of the match. Despite the dominant performance by New England, Rowe was clearly the man of the match and deservedly so.

Kyle Beckerman, Real Salt Lake

Real Salt Lake’s captain impressed us once more. In a week that saw numerous routs across the MLS landscape, RSL picked up one of them. Kyle Beckerman netted two goals in a 4-0 victory over the Columbus Crew. After putting home the first and only necessary goal of the match for what is perhaps the class of the league, Beckerman slotted the fourth goal for his side into the lower left corner with enough pace to leave the keeper with no chance whatsoever.

Erick Torres, Chivas USA

Chivas USA snapped a four-game winless drought against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday. Torres was able to tuck away a penalty just moments from halftime after drawing the foul in the box from New York’s Ibrahim Sekagya to give his team a one-goal lead going into half time. Torres came through again in the 81st minute for his side by cashing in on a rebound to give them what turned out to be the decisive goal in a 3-2 victory.

Honorable Mention: Julio Morales, Chivas USA

Morales scored his first professional goal to break a scoreless tie in the 30th minute.
