The Baltimore Ravens loss to the Denver Broncos in an embarrassing fashion. Peyton Manning threw for an NFL record tying 7 touchdowns in the rout. That might not be the most embarrassing part of the game for the Ravens.

Jacoby Jones helped the Ravens beat the Broncos in last year’s divisional round of the playoffs when he caught a 70-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco to force overtime. While back fielding a punt in Thursday night’s season opener Jones called for a fair catch. His teammate, and rookie, Brynden Trawick was running down field not looking where he was going when he plowed into Jones.

“I didn’t see it,” Jones said, via the Baltimore Sun. “I had my eyes on the ball.”

“I just didn’t see him,” Trawick said. “It was bad on my part. There’s not much I can say, for real.”

Jones ended up having to leave the game with a sprained right knee and Trawick found himself in head coach John Harbaugh’s sights and the recipient of  a talking-to.

“Tried to teach him that he’s got to be willing to turn his head,” Harbaugh said, via the LA Times. “That’s an experience problem. He’s an inexperienced guy.”

Jones is going under an MRI Friday.

“I don’t know,” Jones said when asked how long he will be out. “I got to find out.”
