Washington State coach Mike Leach compliments Popcorn Guy

By now you’ve probably seen the video/screen-grab/GIF of the despondent Washington State fan feeding himself popcorn in the pouring rain during the Stanford Cardinal’s 55-17 win over the Cougars on Saturday. When he was shown the footage at his weekly press conference, Washington State head coach Mike Leach complimented the fan’s technique:

"That guy’s awesome. That guy, yeah. I kinda felt the same way at the end of that game. My wife can do that thing where you throw it up and catch it in your mouth. I’m not very good at it. Her and my daughter occasionally have the contest where you throw M&Ms and field it with your mouth. They’re both pretty good at it. I think he could give either one of them a run for their money (Coaching Search)."

For those that only know Leach as being a hard-ass, it’s moments like these that reveal his more humorous side. Still, Leach’s comments on Popcorn Guy don’t top the A+ dating advice he dispensed earlier this year.
