The Denver Broncos are in the Super Bowl this year, but the more their roster is analyzed, the more it’s looking like this might be their best shot at winning another title. The last Super Bowl came back in 1998 and it’s been a long road back to the big game.

But the Broncos built a crafty roster of stars they developed in-house, and now that they’re superstars in the Super Bowl, it’s unlikely that they’ll all be coming back. One of those homegrown stars is running back Knowshon Moreno, who has turned his career around in a single season. According to NFL Network, the Broncos are not expected be bring him back in 2014.

Denver will be strapped for cash this offseason and the success their exiting free agents have had this year won’t help lower their prices. Moreno has been key to the Broncos success this year, but it appears the torch is being passed to rookie Montee Ball with news that Moreno won’t be retained for the 2014 season.
